Guidelines were changed and yoga studios and other indoor activities are still mandated to be closed. We are waiting for the Governor to issue new guidelines so we can re-open so we can see you all back on your mats.
Here are a few notes so we are all prepared to practice together again while maintaining proper distancing and safety protocols.
Masks will be required to enter the studio: Masks will remain on and covering nose and mouth while in the studio. You must bring your own mask to use.
NOTE: We may have to change the deep breathing and replace with a less forceful mindful breathing exercise at the beginning and end of class. NOTE: There is a possibility we will be required to practice with with masks on. Please make sure you have a comfortable breathable mask or face covering that covers your mouth and nose in case this is necessary.
Hand sanitizer stations are provided throughout the studio.
Changing rooms will have to be monitored for capacity. If possible please come with everything you need already in place to limit need to use changing rooms. Shelving will be provided in the lobby for quick access to your belongings
Showers will initially be prohibited (except for 6AM classes)
You will need to exit the studio within 15 minutes of class ending so that we can properly clean and disinfect before the next class comes in.
The yoga room will have tape markings on the floor for your mat. Please set up your mat in a designated spot. This will limit class sizes to 6 feet between practitioners and teachers (20 students + 1 teacher)
We HIGHLY suggest pre-registering for class online. With smaller classes, we cannot guarantee your spot if you walk-in without reserving a space. All online reservations will be kept until 5 minutes before class starts. Class sizes will be capped.
NO SHOWS WILL BE CHARGED A NO-SHOW FEE. The no-show fee is $20.
Late comers will NOT be admitted.
HELP KEEP OUR COMMUNITY SAFE
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND SUPPORT
DIONNE AND KERRY
What you can expect from us:
Class size is limited to 20 students and 1 teacher.
Designated floor tabs have been placed in the room to ensure safe and proper distancing between mats and practitioners and teachers. Please place the front left corner of mats on the floor tabs.
Our teachers and staff will be provided with masks, face shields and gloves. Teachers will wear protective PPE until they are on the podium or mat and then have a choice to wear them while teaching, as their path between students is also minimum of 6 feet.
The teachers will not be providing hands-on corrections for postures, but they will give verbal feedback as they observe your practice.
We have modified the schedule to leave us ample time to air out the room with the new technology (described below) and/or by opening the windows. We are increasing our cleaning protocols between classes and overnight.
We will NOT offer mat storage as we cannot control the disinfection of these items and feel it in the best interest of all for you to bring your own mats and take them home after class.
We will continue to rent mats and towels as we can thoroughly and properly clean them between uses.
We will use a barbicide (COVID approved solution to disinfect mats on both sides and also use a UV light wand. Towels, as always, will be washed and dried on high heat between each use.
The hot room door will remain open until class begins and after it ends to avoid contact points with the door.
We will accept a small percentage of walk-ins and payments in studio, but encourage you to have a card on file to avoid unnecessary contact points.
We have installed two air scrubbers which purify the air as it circulates through the HVAC system and into the room. We have also added an ERV unit which draws fresh air into the room. The combination of these two technological additions will ensure that the air you breathe in class is cleansed and purified. We also added a standing HEPA Filter in the room, which will help to purify the air in the room. This technology is capable of purifying every cubic inch of air that is circulating in the studio.
What we need from YOU
Face coverings are required upon entering the studio and must be worn at all times until you are on your mat. Unless mandated otherwise by the state, you may remove your face covering ONLY while on your mat. It is your choice as to whether or not to wear face coverings while practicing. We strongly recommend breathable nose and mouth coverings to better protect you and your fellow yogis.
Locker rooms are closed except to change and to access bathrooms. No showering allowed (except by pre-arrangement after 6AM classes).
All belongings will be left in cubbies in the Lobby.
We encourage you to use the Wellness Living Achieve App to sign up for and purchase all needed items prior to class to limit contact.
What YOUcan do to help us maintain the safest environment for everyone:
If you are feeling unwell, please stay home. We look forward to seeing you when you’re fully healthy.
We are asking that there be no congregating in the lobby or check-in area. If you see someone checking in, please allow 6 ft of spacing (markings will be provided on the floor). This may include standing outside the studio until space is available.
Please be mindful of savasanas after your practice, please stagger exits and distance between students when leaving the hot room after class is completed,
Please limit the time in your savasana, so we can properly disinfect the room for the next class, try to exit studio within 15 minutes of class ending to give us time needed to protect your fellow community members.
We want you to be able to clean your mat after class. In order to do this safely, please use the rags provided to hold the spray bottle and to wipe off your mat Place your rag directly in the laundry bin after use and immediately roll your mat up. Please do NOT leave your mat to dry on the floor.
The chairs and benches are available to use for putting shoes back on and organizing your belongings. We ask that you vacate the studio as soon as you’ve done that and take any conversations outside, so we can all maintain appropriate distance.
Reopening Schedule For those who are high-risk, immuno-compromised, living with someone who is, or simply not yet comfortable reentering public spaces, we understand and respect your decision. Your account will remain on hold until you reactivate it.
Our schedule will be more limited to ensure enough time between classes to properly clean and disinfect the studio, run the ERV and air scrubbers and open windows to fully overturn the air in the room, as well as to allow all students to leave prior to the next class beginning. You may notice that your favorite class or class time has been changed or is no longer on the schedule, we will be playing with the schedule month to month to find the proper balance and make adjustments based on the community’s needs.
Class Reservations We have limited spots for practicing, you can reserve your class spot online. If you fail to show up for a class you reserve or cancel a reservation less than 3 hours prior to the start of the class you will be charged $20, regardless of your class package. We are doing our best to serve as many members as we can with limited class size and limited schedule. On this note, we ask if you want to do more than one class per day, you wait until you have finished your first class to give priority to those who have not yet practiced.
We will allow up to 15 confirmed reservations, leaving 5 spots for walk-ins. Please arrive early, as we will relinquish your spot for someone on the wait list or a walk-in 7 minutes before class if you have not arrived for check-in. Our intention is to be sure all members have a fair chance of practicing, and no-shows take that opportunity from other members.
We recognize this is an inconvenience and a much stricter policy than we have had in the past (or want to have now) but it is necessary to ensure everyone has an opportunity to practice and that we can continue to earn enough to pay our teachers and our overhead so we can remain in business.
LiveStream/Zoom/On-Demand Video It is our intention to continue with livestream or zoom classes. However, as we work on reopening the physical studio, we may pause the zoom classes for a few weeks to give us time to work out kinks in scheduling and our in-studio classes. We will restart some of the livestream classes either from the studio or on zoom or a combination of both. We will also be offering an on-demand video library each month.
Words cannot properly express how much we are looking forward to seeing you all in person again. We look forward to bringing the community back together again and are eager to do our part to help our BYL family heal and move forward into our “new normal” Our goal in reopening is to help you move mindfully and rebalance your bodies, minds and spirits. We ask for your patience and understanding for our learning curve. We appreciate you and all you have done to support us and hope we can give back to all of you.
